What are iron-on heat transfers?Vintage iron-on heat transfers were made from plastisol ink that was printed onto special transfer paper. The ink was printed in reverse on the paper and coated with fine adhesives to help it adhere to the t-shirt. A professional grade heat press is then required to release the iron-on transfer from the paper and adhere it to the t-shirt. Are the iron-on heat transfer designs really vintage?Yes, all of our iron-on heat transfers are originals from the 70's and 80's. These are all original dead stock from retail stores that closed their doors. Because these iron-on transfers are over 20 years old, we test all of them to make sure they still look great but please remember that due to their unique nature some designs may show slight variations. Are the t-shirts vintage too?No, the t-shirts we sell are brand new. We sell t-shirts from Anvil and t-shirts that are made in the USA from American Apparel. See our t-shirt information page. Is it safe to order from your site? What is your privacy and security policy?Yes, it's completely secure to order from our site. See the policies page for details on this, as well as our privacy policy. What forms of payment do you accept?We accept Visa, MasterCard, personal checks and money orders. To pay with a credit card, simply add t-shirts to your shopping cart and when ready to checkout, fill in the credit card information. To pay with personal check or money order send an email to help@transfernation.com with the details on the iron-on heat transfer and the t-shirt that you would like to order and we'll respond with availability and more information. What is your return policy?Transfer Nation allows returns of t-shirts within 10 days of the purchase date as long as the merchandise is returned in its original new condition. Please NOTE that due to the rare and unique nature of our designs, we do not offer exchanges as the iron-on transfer you originally ordered may no longer be available at the time of your return. Please NOTE that we do not allow returns or offer guarantees on the purchase of just the iron-on transfers. Here are the instructions to apply the transfers at home. Do you ship internationally?Yes, we ship out within 48 hours. We ship to Argentina, Australia, Bahamas, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Venezuela, and the Virgin Islands. If you don't see your country listed or if you have any questions please send an email to orders@transfernation.com. We ship all international orders via USPS First-Class Mail Global. The flat rate for one t-shirt sent to Canada is $5; each additional t-shirt per order adds $1 to the total. The flat rate for one t-shirt sent to any other international location is $7; each additional t-shirt per order adds $1 to the total. Prices listed are in U.S. dollars. Packages may take anywhere from 2-3 weeks to arrive as the packages may get held up in customs. Some countries may charge a fee when they deliver to you if the value of the package is over a certain amount. Transfer Nation is not responsible for any customs fees, duties or taxes that your country may charge when delivering to you. What about domestic shipping?Domestic orders within the continental U.S. are shipped USPS First Class Mail and are shipped out within 48 hours. The flat rate for one t-shirt is $2.50. Each additional t-shirt per order adds $2.50 to the total. We ship the iron-on transfers via regular First Class mail and charge a flat rate of $1.50, regardless of the number of iron-on transfers. Do your t-shirts shrink?The American Apparel 100% cotton shirts run smaller than your average t-shirt and will shrink a bit in the wash. Please keep this in mind when you order. The Anvil 100% cotton t-shirts are looser fitting t-shirts that are preshrunk. See our t-shirt information page for details and size charts. What are the washing instructions?All of our iron-on heat transfers are vintage and need special handling. To wash your t-shirt, turn it inside out (protecting the iron-on from scratches) and wash in the gentle cycle. To prolong the life of the vintage iron-on transfer we recommend line drying and advise against putting the t-shirt in the dryer. Do not iron the iron-on transfer. Do not dry clean. Sometimes I don't see an option to buy a Medium/One Size girlie t-shirt. Why?Some of our iron-on heat transfers are too large to fit on this size t-shirt. Why do all the images on your website say Transfer Nation in the bottom corner?This is simply a watermark we placed on the image itself to avoid unauthorized duplication and download of the image. The actual iron-on transfers do not say Transfer Nation on them. I'm interested in finding a iron-on heat transfer but don't see it on your web site. Do you have it?If you can't find it on our web site please feel free to send an email inquiry to help@transfernation.com. We are still sorting through our inventory and are adding new designs every day. It's possible we have what you want but just haven't posted it yet. I have a design idea. Can you make it into a t-shirt for me?No, we only sell original dead stock vintage iron-on heat transfers with t-shirts. If I send you an iron-on transfer, will you press it on a t-shirt for me?No, we don't offer this service. Do you sell the iron-on transfers without the t-shirt?Yes, in the order option drop down list for each product, there is an option to buy only the iron-on heat transfer. Click on it and add it to your shopping cart. If I only order the iron-on transfer, how do I apply it to a t-shirt?You can use a home iron to apply the transfer. Or you can simply take the transfer to an area t-shirt shop that has a heat press and for a nominal fee, they can apply it for you. At 350-375 degrees, the transfer takes approximately 30 -35 seconds to adhere to the t-shirt. All of the transfers are cold peel so let them know that the transfer needs to cool completely before carefully peeling off the paper.
